The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 takes place in Berlin, Germany, from 4–13 September, with the Australian Opals among the teams chasing the world title. Australia is ranked among the tournament favourites and enters the competition with a strong squad featuring several WNBA stars.

The Opals are in Group C alongside Puerto Rico, Türkiye and Belgium. Their group games are all scheduled for prime time in Australia: Australia vs Puerto Rico – Friday, 4 September at 7:30pm AEST; Türkiye vs Australia – Sunday, 6 September at 7:30pm AEST; Belgium vs Australia – Monday, 7 September at 7:30pm AEST.

For Australian fans, every game of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup is live on ESPN, including the Opals’ campaign. ESPN is available through Kayo Sports, Disney , Foxtel and Fetch, giving Australian basketball fans several ways to follow the tournament live.
